The main drawback about concrete is the fact that it’s less aesthetically pleasing than masonry work. If that’s of no concern and you’re looking for effectiveness and low-cost, concrete is the way to go.

As with any masonry project you can pick between stone or brick. It will last way longer than a wooden stairway, is less slippery and the maintenance is nonexistent.
